We're proud foodies and serious nourishment is high priority. Our food is vegetarian and filled with wholesome and natural ingredients but, most importantly, plentiful and delicious.
Where possible, we buy local - from Beechwood eggs, to Pangbourne Cheese, and from Birch Cottage Bread to Tolhurst Organic vegetables.
The menu varies according to the seasons and our guests - we appreciate that many children do not relish a pile of spinach! Breakfasts feature such delights as smoothie bowls, baked oats, local breads, fruit platters or shakshuka. Grazing lunches are available for guests to enjoy at their leisure and include cheese boards, soups or wraps. All our afternoon cakes are homemade, and might include a tahini chocolate blondie, orange and cardamom polenta cake or banana bread.
The evening meals are a real feast - from an Italian spread to curries, and our tables are a thing of beauty! There is always plenty of variety, and dietary requirements can be accommodated.
We get excited about food and we aim to excite our guests too! Many retreats include a hands-on cookery workshop, and some even allow you to have a go at foraging or fermentation.
